This beautiful piece of architecture was build in only two and a half days and the credit goes to a Persian architect, Abu Bakr. Hence it was named as adhai din ka jhonpra. It is a perfect blend of Indo-Islamic architectural styles. This mosque was once a centre for learning Sanskrit. The walls of the mosque have served as sacred places for carving out Koranic versus. The suporting pillars of the mosque were once the parts of the destroyed Hindu and Jain temples of that area. The mosque also has an exquisite tower where Muezzin used to offer prayers.
